Lightning is a leading cause of storm deaths and causes billion $ damage. ScioSense lightning sensor AS3935 is capable to detect lightning activity up to 40km, far greater than human senses. It detects both cloud-to-ground and cloud-to-cloud flashes.
The very low power listening mode (60uA & PD=1uA) makes it
possible to use it in portable devices. A sophisticated algorithm for
higher level of accuracy minimizes false & man made signals w
distance estimation. The auto antenna tuning allows for tolerance
variations during manufacturing and antenna Mis-tuning’s.
