Ultrasonic Flow Converters

TDC-GP30 Ultrasonic Flow Converter

TDC-GP30 and TDC-GP30-F01 are ultrasonic flow converters used in high-end smart water meters (R400 to R800).

Its performance with respect to resolution and temperature stability (offset drift) is proven in millions of installations. It drastically simplifies the design of ultrasonic heat and water meters and is the solution with the lowest power consumption at higher sample rates including the flow calculation (8.5µA at 8 Hz sample rate).
It manages the complete ultrasonic process, driving the piezos, capturing the received bursts with an offset-stabilized zero-crossing detector, amplitude monitoring, first-hit level detection.

The integrated CPU allows to do averaging, filtering or even the complete flow calculation.

TDC-GP30 is offered in two package variants, QFN32 (YD) and QFN40 (YA) for application of an external amplifier.

TDC-GP30Yx-F01 comes with a flow firmware already on chip, which simplifies the design of ultrasonic water meters and reduces time to market. It covers the whole ultrasonic measurement task so that users have the full flexibility in the choice of the meters central processor and can continue with their existing platforms and software libraries.
